Hey guys, please be careful out there. I now know what can happen while out driving mountain roads.
I had just prepared the Camry for the auto-x on Sunday and was out testing my car when:
I lost control going around a decieving corner, hit a telephone pole, a tree then back across the road and rolled down a 15 foot rocky drop and came to rest in a small streambed.
I was able to walk away, amazingly. But I REALLY don't want to see anyone else have a similar or worse experience.
I will deal with the chipped teeth and glass in my arm but no more canyon running for me for a while.
I'll have some of my aftermarket stuff for sale here soon (the stuff that survived!) Keep and eye out for it in the garage sale section. It would be nice to be able to cover some of my deductibles with the money.
From first looking at it, it looks like anyone within 10 miles of it would have died. But upon closer inspection the driver's seat area didn't have too much damage.
Take it easy on the WRX Wagon, that things a beaut. Well, the WRX Sti is even sexier but that's what you got.
Are you filing a claim with insurance or anything?

I had to file a claim with the insurance company because I went to the hopital and a police report was taken. I had no colision coverage on the Camry though. I'll know in the next few days how everything will pan out, but I know I'm not getting any money for the car.

Ah that sucks. The car wasn't worth insuring for collision. Hopefully you can salvage the rims and the sound system, but that's a lot of work going to waste.

Oh geez, that is really horrible, your car is wrecked and you do not have collision insurance. A car can be replaced, but a life can not and I am glad to see that no one was injured.

Haha... good thought. <--- like that?
Actually, the teeth aren't so bad. I will have to get them fixed though.
