I saw a toyota soarer on speed network. It was in a drifting race in CA. These cars that raced are all 500hp+. What is a toyota soarer?

it's a car that never came to america... i think it has a 2jz engine.. the sc400 is consider a soarer

3rd gen and 4th gen soarers indeed came to the states in the form of first gen lexus sc (sc300 and sc400) and second gen lexus sc (sc430). the usdm sc300 had the 2jz-ge engine and the usdm sc400 had the 1uz-fe engine. the usdm sc430 had the 3uz-fe.

jdm 3rd gen soarer / 1st gen sc
JZZ30 - 2.5L I6 twin turbo (1991-1995) (jdm only)
JZZ30 - 2.5L I6 single turbo + VVTi (1996-2000) (jdm only. replacement of the latter)
JZZ31 - 3.0L I6 USDM Lexus SC 300 (1994-2000) (usdm only)
UZZ30 - 4.0L V8 USDM Lexus SC 400 (1991-1996) (usdm only)
UZZ31 - 4.0L V8 air suspension (1991-1997) (jdm only. luxury model)
UZZ32 - 4.0L V8 4-wheel-steering + active hydraulic suspension (1991-1996) (jdm only. sport model. only 873 made. top-of-the-line)

jdm 4th gen soarer (recently jdm lexus sc430 since lexus is sold in japan now) / 2nd gen sc
UZZ40 - 4.3L V8 identical between jdm and usdm.

Good information lextasy, yes to the best of my knowledge the Soarer is the same body as the Lexus just being rebadged as the Sc300 and Sc400 in the United States. I believe it was bade available with a 2jzgte 2jzge and the 1uzfe...I think
