idle speed?

I have a 2000 le. It trembles a little bit while idling. Is this because the idle speed in need of adjustment? Thanks.

Does it idle weird all the time or just when the engine is cold?

If it only happens when the engine is cold i'd say the cause is most likely a clogged / dirty IAC (idle air control) vavle.

I would like to say it's all the time.

I think the problem arises from the fact that the engine can not provide sufficient power while idling. The problem is comparable to the following phenomenon. When you drive a manual car, and the engine is idling, if you failed to control the clutch and fuel well, the car will start to tremble, then it will start to shake, and finally, the engine will stall. The trembling I observed on my car is similar to the tremblling I mentioned for the maunual car case. Could anybody give me some suggestion? Thanks

Could be somthing as simple as a clogged fuel filter or bad gas, I'd check those two before I went any further.

btw, is there a CEL?

Which service costs less?

I found the price for adjusting the idle speed is around $50. How much do you think it costs for changing the fuel filter?
what's CEL?

What kind of Tremble is it? Motormounts maybe? Does the whole car shake or does it feel like more engine boginess? (is boginess a word?)

i dont know where you go but a fuel filter is a lot less than $50.
i have a oil filter for $100 you can get the filter for cheep.it is a 2000 you should not have to mess with the main parts.if you use cheep gas try the fuel injector cleaners.air cleaner can do that to.dont replace it just see if its dirty if so the get a new one
i hope this helps if not see if warenty is ther

I might have overracted.

I testdrived the 2001 le of my friend. His car also vibrates a little. Therefore, I think I might have overreacted. Maybe I shouldn't compare camry with my old taurus, which comes with a V6 engine. Anyway, I really appreciate all you guys for your help.
