OK, according from my GC coilover sleeves instruction, I have to knock off this gold cap in order for me in slide in that CG coilover sleeves.....my question is, that GOLD CAP from TOKICO, will that be safe to remove that...?
Someone told me GAS and OIL will come out from that cap, then the struts is DONE.
This is a $400.00 move, and I would like someone have experience on TOKICO or suspension to school me....thanks a million.

Ok, the picture above is NOT Tokico, but I have no other pictures of the TOKICO, I got the sealed Tokico for 97-00 Camry HB3281 (close enough, I don't remember) but the struts is very look alike then the OEM one.
Can I still knock off that cab and put that back on..?
I have serviceable struts. When I replaced them with Tokicos, that "gold cap" that you're refering to was a threaded ring that held the sealed cartridge in the strut housing. My mechanic unscrewed it with HUGE vice-grips. That released the whole cartridge . Remember I have SERVICEABLE. By the looks of it, you have SEALED. Not sure if my info is relevent, but there it is.
I have serviceables that I swapped out of my car and I had to deal with a nut. However for you I believe that isn't a nut if you have sealed. You just replace that whole assembly. The "cartridge" and housing are 1 piece in a sealed setup. Nothing to unscrew... just take the whole thing off and put the new one on.

Rookie Solara... is this for your Camry? I didn't know you had a 97+ Camry. HB3281 does not exist in either case. For the 97+ Camry the part #s are:
HB3184 - front HB3181 - rear
HB3185 - front HB3182 - rear
Dunno what the difference is between each set of front/rear.
For the Solara coupe which is what I thought you had, the part#s are:
HB3184 - front HB3181 - rear
ALL SEALED...

Yes..the Camry and Solara are the same one, and yes, they are sealed...I got a Solara
So, can I knock that cap off and tab that back in after the GC is in..? Like the OEM struts...?
I think this is the last time to hold me up now....that will be sucks if I have to use my old Eibach and sell my brand new GC.
Sorry I haven't actually worked with a sealed aseembly... from from what I gathered there is no nut to unscrew... you just replace that whole strut assembly when it is time to replace struts.
As for your springs, doesn't it just sit on the seat? As for your GC sleeve... I am not familiar with what it is so I can't help you out there... unless you post a pic then I can take a look at it. If they told you to unscrew THAT specific nut then they were referring to the serviceable (non-sealed) assembly.

Hmmm, if I can show you the GC coilover installation sheet, you will laught at it, it was hand drew by someone like 4 years old and it said "use hammer to knock off the gold ring".....I am pretty sure they are referring to the OEM struts (see the above picture), but what about TOKICO struts....?
SO far, no one in CM know the answer, GLok is difficult to contact and I am not sure what to do...
Yes, I was thinking about the same thing, the GC suppose to just slides into the Tokico struts seat, however, that sleeves MUST have a same diameter as the Struts body diameter.....with that gold cap, I cannot slide that sleeves in...you can see the sleeves from the SCC or SS, they are the same....
If you can think of something, let me know...
But most likely, I SHOULD NOT remove that cap. right...?
Talk more on ICQ... scan me the install sheet too if you can. I will try my best to figure out your gen 4s. I could take a peek under my dad's 2000 as well I guess, when I see him again.

Thanks for your help...Luc from Team Solamry just told me he knocked off all 4 of my TOKICO is like 5 minutes and oil, gas and other stuffs were all over the floor..............just kidding, he said they are fine and I am very happy now.
All I have to figure out now is how to adjust my camber kits....? Since I have to lower my Solara in like 2.2"....I might settle with 2".
Yeah I read that post on CMPL later. Congrats on the new setup then
