4th Generation car crash. 97 worth fixing???

So last week my 97 got smashed in to (rear quater panel and wheel well are shot ) and the estimates are coming back around 3K to get it fixed.
I'm looking for opinions on if I should get it fixed or live with the damage until it rusts out with the WI winters.

buy a 5 pound mallet and some paint and fix it yourself as best as you can and pocket the rest.

You don't have insurance so it's out of pocket? That's sounds like a lot, take it someplace else and get another estimate.

If it's legal, i'd just shine it til i could get another car. Bodywork is hideously expensive, re the labor. The bodyshop guy does earn every penny! But even so, what's this car worth to you anyway.
3 large is a good down payment on a new to you. Especially if the mileage is anything over 100.
