Att: Tony the Tiger:Deck mounted sub

No this is actually not about your turbo-charger, but I am extemely interested in your sub that you mount on your rear deck! Was it worth the time to put it up there? Does it rattle the speakers or affect how they sound? I checked up under the deck and it supported by metal structure, how hard was this to cut a hole into? Any other comments you have about the entire project would great. thanx

I'd also like to know. Thinking of putting a competition 10 there and savin trunk space. I guess it better be sealed or there's no point. Well... maybe I could cut a whole in the rear deck for a port... hmmm.

There wasn't too much work involved in placing the sub on the rear deck.. Only minor cutting was needed, and a simple jigsaw did the job fairly well. However, it was a b*tch to insulate everything to stop the rattling when the bass hits hard. I also had to make a custom sealed enclosure which included a tubular surrounding that connects to a larger sub box. Without the enclosure, the sound isn't that great. Overall, I would just stick to the traditional way and place the sub in the trunk
