Can you recommend some wheels?

Can anyone recommend some wheels for my 1997 Camry? I'm still pretty new to all of this, & I've never gone wheel shopping, so I'm pretty overwhelmed by the selection. As of now, my car looks pretty much stock, except for the muffler that the previous owner added. I am thinking I will probably go with 16's or 17's, & I don't know what the recommended width is...probably 6" or 7". I'm also thinking of dropping it around 1.5". Anyway, I'll stop typing & let you give me some recommendations. Thanks,
Daniel

the cam is too big of a car for 16s.....get at least 17s, and usually by 7" wide, if not more......if you get them wider, just make sure you're running offset that won't screw things up....

Get IS300 rims! That's my suggestion. How wide are those anyway? They're good cause you dont need to worry about offset and other stuff, they will fit, no question but you'll need OE lugs.

Why do you recommend those wheels? Is it for look, or performance? Is there a webpage where I can see these wheels & others? Sorry, I'm just full of questions.
Thanks Guys,
Daniel

would you guys mind just recommending what you think would look good with my car? Like I said before, I'm new at this, & just starting out looking at what's available can be fairly overwhelming.

I believe on the Gen4, the IS300 rims will need spacers to fit without rubbing. The thread is here: http://www.camryman.org/cgi-bin/config.pl?read=196959

hey daniel

i have a 2000 camry le and i just installed new 17" wheels and tires to it, and man, it looks good. i would definitely go with 17" wheels. i also asked people on this forum for advice before buying them. the wheel type all comes down to your own personal taste. i got the sport edition fox 2. you can check the wheels out at www.tirerack.com it's pretty cool bec they have a pic of the camry and u can choose the color of your car and they'll keep adding new wheels.

i also got the continental tires...pretty good in my opinion, but i've only had them for 1 week. they are also pretty cheap...about $85/tire
