Ok I just ordered a strut tower brace and are intake from Reactive
My question is, how tight are the strut tower bolts supposed to be? (torque spec)... also I hope the bar does not hit my throttle body mounting bracket... it is pretty high and I heard some peoples bars actually hit it when the engine torque’s over.
by the way.. Anyone have these products? Are they any good or should I cancel my order?
thanx cya

I ordered a Ractive strut brace from a local speed shop a few days ago mainly because of the price, and also for the fact that there really arent any alternatives that are much better. My ride is a V6 though but ill let you know how it goes.

Ractive stuff is good. the intake will not work with the v6, which i now have. i had it on my I4, and it worked very well.

It basically connects to the chassis where the top of each strut assembly is and it therefore makes the chassis more rigid so there is less chassis "twist" in turns.
Lower tie bars and the like achieve the same thing.
i have the Ractive strut bar on my '92 i4 automatic. i also wondered how tight the bolts should be. there is less than 1/2 an inch of clearance between the bar and the throttle body. but no problems there. but i did notice a black spot developing on the top of the bar. seems that the bar is slightly touching the underside of the hood (the hood brace actually). i just took a hammer to that spot on the hood to give it more clearance. no problems now.
All strut bars do the same thing if they fit right and are not adjustable which ruins the purpose of a strut bar if u ask me, as far as Ractive being a good compay...
