Coolant System Flush and Additive use

Hi All,

I was going to get my Toyota Coolant replaced on my 2002 Camry LE V6 as part
of the scheduled maintenance and I was planning on buying some radiator
flush and Redline Water Wetter additive to the dealer to add in the car.

Here are the links to the items:

http://www.prestone.com/framer.cgi?p...roducts/19.htm

http://www.redlineoil.com/redlineoil/wwti.htm

Have you heard of these products or used them?

I think Toyota just drains the existing coolant and replaces it with the
Toyota Red stuff. In your opinion, is that sufficient or should I get the
flush and Water Wetter? I figured the flush will remove any deposits in the
Rad (if any) and make sure that everything is nice and clean inside. The
Water Wetter is just to lower the temp of the engine so that things run a
bit cooler.

Thanks,

the haynes manual says not to use any additives, but i don't see any harm in using them if you have a good reason for needing it to run a bit cooler

Well if ur switching from green to red coolant, it makes sense to flush the whole system, cuz if u don't do it u still gonna have part of the green stuff in circulation and that can affect the timelife of the red stuff, meaning if u mix it u might as well save the money and put green stuff again ! About the waterwetter, it's gonna make ur engine run a couple of degrees cooler but don't expect anything amazing. It just does what they say it does !
