usually a shorter intake is a short ram intake and full cold air will be longer and dip below the engine to suck in more cool air....short rams can be shorter or longer depending on brand probably

exactly... short ram usually indicates that the filter is located in the engine bay (warm ambient air) whereas a "long" intake usually has the filter located outside the engine bay (colder ambient air).

my car is 2002 camry. i know that AEM produces short cai and long cai for my car. my question is which one is better for my car?

I see neither long nor short CAI here. I think you got confused with short ram intake and a cold air intake. A cold air intake is better.

if you place the CAI in an opening on the front bumper, i guess that would make it a Ram CAI...
