Brake pads

On my ceramic brake pads, I have like 3 mm left on the rear ones from looking at the indentation or marker of depth. The marker is like a cutout piece of the ceramic brake pad in between the brake pad itself. How much longer until I have to replace these babies?

Three centimeters left? I've never seen new pads with more than around 1cm (0.39in) of pad material to begin with. That much pad would never fit between the caliper and the rotor...

Oh, then yes it's definitely time to change those pads. I'm willing to bet they're worn unevenly too (on an angle) if they're down that far.

Actually, there's 3mm left until the wear indicator runs out ( the indentation in the middle of the brake pad).

You could keep using them for awhile then. The rear brakes only take about 25% of the load, so they tend to last longer. Just keep a close eye on them. No need to wait for the wear indicator to replace them, that might cause scoring on the rotors.

I'd just change them rear pads right away. They are cheap, and when they go they will take the rotors with them.
