So of course, I started to "window shop" online for new rims to get. Oh yeah, I drive a 4-cyl, '99 Camry. Anyway, design and "the look" of the wheel, yeah that's the easy part. Then comes the questions. So first, my wheels are 14" right now, and I've been told that these are the smallest wheels that '99 Camrys were sitting on. I, then, asked around, and found out that 18" wheels were the largest wheels I could put without having to raise the car or mess with the fenderwells. Then, one friend tells me that 18" wheels will cause me to need to modify the body to make them fit. So, all in all, I'm just dazed and confused about what will fit without modification and what will fit after the shredded parts of my wallet are scattered on the floor of the body shop that needed to adjust some part of my car to make the wheels fit. Somebody? Anybody? Hmmph..
Oh yeah, another, smaller, question:
What do I use to re-apply my emblems?
The following have failed horribly:
- Epoxy Glue
- Silicon Glue
- Krazy Glue
And if you're going to suggest some hard-to-find, overly-priced mechanic's-only glue, at least tell me where I can find it, how much I can get it for, and how much you'll lend me so that I can buy it. Thanks.
I am not positive, but I think that 18"s would sit without much modifiction to your car, emblems? Like on the back of your car, umm shit dood, I hope that epxoy didn't rip the paint off the back of your car, but use ELMERS GLUE! If you can't figure out where to buy that, well I guess I can't help you... but really some Elmer's Glue will work mircales! Yes just the school glue, thats what has been holding my emblems on for the past
3 months, I am too lazy to shave em right now...
Thanks for the reply. I'm going out to get some Elmer's today and I'll reply back for the results. Oh yeah, the epoxy wasn't damaging on the paint, probably because once I realized that it wasn't going to work, I cleaned it off with some WD-40. So yeah, the paint wasn't harmed.

Other than that, you should have no problems with 18" rims as long as you are comfortable with the crazy low profile tires that you will have to use along with that for a gen 2 Camry.

thanx for the response everybody. and don't worry. im really not looking for altezzas. i mean, not to diss on anyone that has them, if yoo think they look good, then go crazy, cuz i really dont like them. but ive seen how retarded things get when people describe their dislike for some sort of car part, so please dont take this like im dissing altezza light owners. if anything, i dont like the lights, but that doesnt mean i dont like the "light-owners." anyway im plannin to paint a thin border outside the lights.
for the wheels, i've been stuck on these:
- konig verdict
- motegi mr7
- enkei rs6

Do you have pics of those wheels... and do you know what type of construction each of them has - cast, forged, ssf, etc? Those are important factors to consider when dropping a lot of money on rims. Oh yeah, weight too, if that matters to you...

normally, i would've asked what cast, forged, and ssf meant, but then i figured that i would make other people's lives easier by searching myself. so if anyone else is wondering, go to Wheel Tech - Construction. after reading about it, i'd prefer forged, but i haven't found any, nor do i know if i would be able to afford the price difference. with weight, im not really looking into weight reduction, so the weight doesn't really bother me, even if it might help mpg (or so i've heard).
