repairing damage

okay tonight the g/f had al ittle accident...the local bank has extra small drive thru lanes n this one is dumb enough to have small yellow concrete things a little too close to the lanes...it gives u zero leeway if u pull too far over...which she did....mirror got ripped off n shattered, rear passenger door dented yellow paint scraped all over, all the molding is scratched like mad with yellow paint all over...front passenger door has some damage too...i was wondering A) what would a bodyshop charge to pull the dent n repair the moldings if i get the yellow off myself B) how would they do it exactly, because i have the resources to prolly do most of it myself...we already used a plunger to pull most of the dent out....would i be able to remove the molding, pull the door dents out, clean up the molding and possibly just put it back on? also if i gotta paint it where cna i get good instructions...BTW its a 01 silver le and i wanna help keep the cost down as much as possible to help her out so i just need to know these few things...and BTW how much would a mirror cost painted already...i could prolly install it myself

what year's the car? might not be worth bringing it to a body shop, well unless you have a show like car

the yellow would probably come off with rubbing compound, the paint would probably be a bit duller but a bit of clear coat and some wax and it shouldn't be too bad

as for the dents, if you don't want to live with the, you could use a slide hammer, requires drilling a small hole though

or you could take out the interior door pannel and beat it back out into shape with mallets (hard rubber and ball pin)

for the mirror, well scrap yard is your friend

Have fun at the body shop, they'll rape you for cash. I'd say about $500+ if you remove the paint yourself. You can just visit shops to get estimates. If you want to DIY, get a Hayne's body book. Good luck!

best get the haynes manual, they describe the procedure,

oh and if you can't get a good swing in onthe door from the inside you can use the rubber like handle of a hammer as a punch

won't get it perfect, but you'll reduce the severity of it
