mr2 6spd sequential manual

im looking into swapping a 5-spd manual tranny into my 99 v6 camry, and i was wondering if there would be any way to use the sequential 6 spd manual tranny out of a brand new mr2? anyone ever look into this? im amost sure you wouldnt be able to do it but it would be pretty badass if you could.

Might be different because before the MR2's were using S-family engines, as was the Camry I4. But now, the MR-Spyders are using the ZZ-family engines...very different, arent they?

As long as the bell housing bolts up it should work. You will have to get custom axles made to fit the car along with custom mounts. Toyota's bell housing are the same for a lot of trannys. Like the RWD setups you can put the same tranny in about 4-6 different engine familys. So if you have a way to check the bell housings then that will be your anwser although if you have more dough then you can get a custom bell housing made to fit as well.

he's talking about the MKIII MR2 and the Gen.4 Camry...

the MR2 is RWD, but it's MR, so that means it has no drive shaft, the MR2 is basically a "backward" FF...

it might be possible...

but it would cost too much $$$, and probably not worth the cost...

I dont think the e153 tranny ever came in a automatic most automatic are C series.

The 6speed off the celica is already weak ass it is why mate it to a very torque motor??? My friend has already gone thru 2 trannies in his GTS ... As for the sequential shift kit... try Level10 they had a shift kit which allowed you to manually shift the automatic tranny...
