wheel spacers Question

what do you think would be the best wheel spacer combo for added traction and control? 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back or the opposite, or just the same for the front and rear

wheel spacers, as in put a 1" or 1.5" spacer between your wheel and the rotor??

i agree with terrastrife, get some proper wheels and not use uber thick spacers.

nothing wrong with spacers.....if you use the h&r ones with long studs...

and I actually asked this question a LONG LONG time ago when I was still a newb and thinking about a wide-track camry...

long story short, don't do it. our cars understeer like mad as it is. push out the wheels, and it's not going to help at all.

For added traction and control, run a staggered setup where your front tires are wider than the rears.

Ive heard of the staggered efect I think thats what I'll do... 1.5" in the front and .50" or .75" on the rear, something like that...
True that camys to understeer pretty good but wouldnt a wider wheel base in the front help prevent understeering a bit, while cornering

Get a good set of tires. You'll notice a much bigger difference doing this than getting spacers. Plus, I'm one of the people that feels the wheel being directly bolted to the hub/rotor is an important structural part of the chasis. Putting something between that bond just doesn't work for me.

part of the problem with the handling with the camry is not the fact that its wheelbase is not wide enough...the main problem is the fact that the chassis flexes, and that is detrimental to losing traction with the rear wheels.

an aftermarket rear swaybar evens out the handling a lot and can help promote oversteer, but in the end, anything short of a full roll-cage or under carriage supports that are welded will not make this into an oversteering beast

and I also agree with travismorg- spacers are a last resort when it comes to performance. get some good tires and wide wheels and you will feel a world of difference
