cruise control help

Hi guys:

I am new here. I have 98 camry V6. I changed timing belt and water pump yesterday. But I found that the cruise control have some problems.

when I turn the cruise control knob off, there was a shake with the car sometimes. Is this normal?

Thank you

depends on the kind of shake and how bad. if its the engine shaking, it might be normal as the throttle shuts suddenly and the engine has to readapt to the new conditions after being at the same speed for so long

I have cruise control on my '98 also and can tell you that when I turn off my cruise, there's a sudden 'shake' that you can feel when you're sitting there. It certainly wakes up my sleeping wife who's next to me, cuz she can feel it as well.
So unless what you're experiencing is more like a violent 'shudder', then I'd say it's normal.
