2nd Generation LED head lights, suggestion?

I came across these the other day, and am wondering whether if any one of you tried it before? I am guessing that the light from these does not spread out like halogen light bulbs due to its LED charateristics, which means coverage on road may not be as good? but that's just my guess, what do you guys think?

don't think they would last long. most ebay leds don't last past a few months. But I agree that leds in stock housings are probably crap.

LEDs do not have the light output characteristics yet to be competitive with halogens or hids yet. You would need to use multiple really high power LEDs like luxeon stars (http://www.luxeon.com/products/family.cfm?familyId=2) fitted into a custom array to even achieve the potential for use as fog lamps. Those bulbs you linked aren't gonna light up crap. At best, as those latter two auctions clearly state, you might be able to use them as DRL's or city lights, and even then I wouldn't bother over a conventional halogen bulb which is cheaper and brighter. Plus you've gotta be insane to pay $100 for those PIAA's since they're going to be auxilary lights that don't even match up to halogens.

Luxon is`t the top player anymore in LED`s. Cree and Osram both have 1000 lumen single led prototypes (only 100 lumen short of a H1 halogen bulb (1100 lumen) 4 of these would equal a xenon lamp in lumen output.

To the point:
Velocity leds aren't bad quality, but a 1w led only outputs about 140 lumens, would work as DRL`s but thats about it.
