So I'm a noob with regards to ground effects and undercar kits. I want something simple for a layman to install and look like the cars in Fast and the Furious do. I haven't lowered my car at all yet, but it's something I might want to do, along with getting a bodykit possibly. I have an 01 Camry. Not sure yet. But I know I want some undercar lighting and be able to turn it off and on easily. So I found some on matrixracing.com. There are Neon and there are LED tubes (I think 4 total) both with wireless remotes. What's the difference between these two? Is there a specific brand I should be looking at or does it not matter?
Thanks for the advice!

Neons and LEDs are different lighting technologies.
My guess is that LEDs are going to be dimmer, but more durable. Neons would be brighter but the glass tubes would be more susceptible to shock. LEDs may cost more than fluorescent lighting and LEDs usually only emit light in a narrow angle. Fluorescent tubes will emit light in all directions so LED tubs might need some aiming if you want to light up the ground under the car and not the underside of the car. With Fluorescent tubes, you don't have to aim them.
I dont believe those lighting kits are legal, i know they are not here in Ontario. Try to stick with neon, unless you dont have the money. I find the LED ones just give a straight light beam to the ground, looking..ok. But the neon spread the light everywhere giving a nice glow. And 4 remotes sounds ok, but kind of a hassle for every tube, stick to a switch in the car. Thats my 0.02
In certain areas, cops can ticket you if they can see these neon tubes on your car, even if they're not turned on. In other areas, the law dictates that they're only illegal if your car is moving, and you might be able to get away with it if you're sitting in a parking lot. Either way, you're going to regret it 4 months down the line when you realize how retarded neon glow kits are and everybody you meet is giving you crap about them.
While you're a self proclaimed noob, here's a bit of advice. AVOID the following noob mistakes:
plug 'n' play HID kits
any form of neon lighting (window washer nozzles, underglow, wheel LEDs)
eBay "chips" for your N/A Camry
eBay turbonators
stickers (each one does NOT add 50whp)
badges (Pep Boys GT-R badges do not go on your Camry)
eBay grounding wire kits (do the "Big 3" if you must)
turn signal bulbs that are not white/amber/yellow
