3SFE -> 3SGTE Conversion

Ive been wanting to do this forever. Ive been debating on whether to save up and get a newer car, or to put some money into the Cam and turn some heads with it. I can get a turbo manifold kinda easy. Question is other than the turbo itself and piping, what wud i need to rebuild my engine? Pistons, rods, headgasket? anything else?

Also, is there a good place to get a good turbo? no performance places around where I live.

If there is anyone parting out a 3SGTE, PLEASE let me know!

Are you doing a full conversion or just rebuilding the 3S-FE and turbocharging it?

If your doing a full coversion you'd have to swap everything (pistons, rods, crank, head, etc....). You'd be better off doing a 3S-GTE swap.

Well if you just want to make it a 3sgte and not necessarily make it as strong as a 3sgte you just need a 3sgte head, intake manifold, throttle body and exhaust manifold. I wouldn't recommend it though. Your best bet is either buying a 3sgte or turboing your 3sfe. I say personally say that you turbo you 3sfe, we need more of these out there

well maybe there was a misunderstanding, or bad wording on my part. I wanna keep my engine, 3SFE, but I wanna turbo it. Ive just heard that i shud get the 3SGTE internals when I rebuild it, instead of gettin OEM replacement parts for it. What cha think?

This is what i plan/planning to do:
-3SGTE turbo manifold
-turbo (not sure what to get yet)
-metal head gasket
-new pistons and rings
-rods?
Im not sure if I wanna go as far as an IC, as much as I want to. I dont wanna put a WHOLE lot of money into this, but Im willing to put some into it. Right now, I dont wanna spend over 500, depending on how things go round here.

So other than listed above, anything else id need to replace, or add onto it?

The topic (3S-FE -> 3S-GTE conversion) threw me off.

I thought you wanted to convert a 3S-FE to a 3S-GTE by swapping out the internals, head, etc...

If your gunna rebuild thats the time to get better internals. Thats the way I look at it.

If your getting a stock 3S-GTE turbo manifold the Toyota CT-26 turbo bolts right up to it.

For pistons, rings, and rods look in the group buy forum. JE forged pistons and Eagle billet rods for $700.

I hate to say it, but its gunna cost you alot more then $500.

Rod bearings, main bearings, seals (front and rear main seal), gaskets, bolts (might want to look into ARP for head bolts / studs, rod bolts, and main bolts / studs), etc....

The other thing I suggest is a crankshaft from a 3S-GTE. If you get this along with the JE pistons & Eagle billet rods or stock 3S-GTE pistons & rods you'll have all forged internals.

Also have the head rebuilt.

Well you're definately going to have to put in all new gaskets and seals. I suggest a 3sgte HKS metal head gasket, it'll lower the compression by .3 and make sure that you're gasket doesn't blow. With 9:1 compression you should be able to run a good amount of boost. But for 700$ for 8.5:1 pistons and eagle H rods, I'd just wait until I had the cash for those to rebuild. The rods on the 3sfe seem to be it's weak point. They're not built to hold over 200hp.

the next thing you might wanna look into is the fuel delivery.
