Taking off heatguard on hood???

Hey, I just bought APC Windshield washer chrome replacements, and I tried getting the heatsheild off my hood, but it wont come off! The things that are holding it on wont come off and I broke two....are they supsed to be that hard to get off? I was able to take off my bosses on his mitsubishi just fine...and mine are impossible. Anyone taken them off before? Thanks!

No it shouldn't be hard to remove the heatshield. For installing mine I didn't have to remove the heatshield. Just put them in and have some needle nose pliers. I had to get my Dad to help me with mine. There a pain to get in, first time i took my hood off to do it.

the heatshield isnt that hard.all you have to do is take off the plastic plugs that hold it on.thay are the round plastic things you see.i used needle nose pliers to get thim off if you break some thay sell them at the parts store.

you probably dont want to leave the heat sheild off... this will make the paint warp faster than normal on the hood. The heat shield only helps a little bit, but it does help... anyways, you can get those "clips" from an autoparts store most likely, just bring a broken one in and see if they have them. ive bought so many of those retaining clips from my local parts store, for the trunk carpetting, inside the car, MAYBE the heat shield too... i dont remember.

biggest question... WHY in the world do you want those ghetto piece of crap things on your car. thats just complete garbage. oh well, i guess if you like them then good luck.

2 years no probs with paint.the lights look good (i think)as long as
it matches the car. i.e.black/blue/or dark color=black w/led and
white/silver/gray=chrome w/led
