Racing the Camry

Hey whats up? im new to here, ive been reading up on Camrys, and i thought id better sign up to start asking questions. I got a 89 Camry LE, and i love to race my car. People think the car is slow, but when im taking Mustangs, more and more want to race... i was just wondering, what cars have you guys raced and won? Id like a list, so when i pull up to a car i know if i have a chance or not. Thanks!

Shuluke

PS. My car is stock. Just very well taken care of.

i guess that list would be helpful but it's sorta hard to tell cause someone who would wanna race you is probably gonna have a modified car and there's no tellin what he (or she, that'd be interesting) has got under their hood

Your takign out mustangs? in a stock gen2? Sorry man, i'd like to beleive it, but i dont thik the mustang driver was really giving 'er.
You 'Might' have a chance against a base model with v6 but even then i doubt it.

It was probably one of those rusty 4 cyl automatic Mustangs that leak oil all over and their engines sputter (a friend had one of them and I can tell you it was not a fast car)...

i believe it, for sure if the stang was a v6. those gen 2's are light! and with a v6 im sure that thing hauls. i can almost keep up with GT's and i all i have is intake and catback in my v6 5spd. pretty much any domestic v6 (mustangs, camaros, or any family car) doesnt stand a chance.

good kill!

No, it wasnt a pos Mustang. Im not saying my car flies, but I have really good take offs, and i do street racing mostly, ive actually never really went to the strip. I can even take 03 Eclipses, but then i hear those ones are not really that fast. Sometimes i think about modding my car, but then i dont know much about it, even though i read ALOT, i would feel much better either watching the installation done on someone elses car or someone helping me out on mine. Haha, anyone live in New Mexico?

Hey dude if you have the money or if you want to get on aol or MSN messanger we can talk and I can help you with moddifying your camry. I have always wanted to get into the 2vzfe and have some plans on it I would like to do or see done. You could be a ginny pig on it and I can either build you an engine or help you build the engine for a good amount of power so that you can kick the hell out of a modded mustang(that is with the 5.0 or the 4.6 not the older ones with 351's and bigger). Let me know my instant messangers name is Hotwheelharmer on both aol and MSN.

mid 90's V6 mustangs were slooooooooow. Like 9+ sec 0 to 60 slow. Heavier than a 2nd gen with only 160hp. A V6 2nd gen should be able to take one no problem.

Edit: They both wiegh about the same but the mustang only has 145hp Tons of torque though. 215 lb ft.

Wow very nice list, even taking out some turbo'd cars. I would like to get some work done on my car so im listening to any kind of worthwhile upgrades there are. Ill instant message hotwheelharmer later today because im at work. Im guessing that there is no one from NM though. haha im excited just thinking of beating 5.0's.
