Sounds like your belts are slipping. What part of the motor is the noise coming from? Have you pinpointed it?
yeah its the turbo in the mail in a few years when i sell my soul and my car. .i havent pinpointed it yet and it doesnt sound like the auto choke. my moms got a 4 runner and it sounds somewhere between a leaf blower and a vacuum. Ill have it checked out.
i have the same problem after installing my new intake. it sounds like a high pitched hissing noise. i thought it may be the intake sucking in more air. but it sounds kinda nasty to me. i haven't heard any other intakes before so i wouldn't know.
after the engine warms up though it goes away.
does something need to be reset after installing an intake? is it supposed to sound like that?

Pull the fuse in the block behind the battery for about 1 minute and put it back. Then the ECM will relearn the air flow characteristics...
You want to pull the EFI fuse. Its inside of a black plastic box right behind the battery. Theres other fuses and relays in that box.
