It invloves prying off the surround from around the radio and other console controls like the cig lighter. Get a flat bladed screw driver, wrap the end in electrical tape and pry from the top. Once you get a handle on it, undo the clip, disconnect all the cables, unscrew the raio screws and pull that sucker out.

Be carefull with that one. The generation 3's pry out from the bottom. That's where the clips are. They are hooked slightly under the dash at the top. If you pry them from the top you will break either the surround or the dash iteself. That's why atobe asked you what year you have. It's important.

I pry from the top with my gen 3 since the top is clip free it pulls right out then i can angle out the clips. Works for me i guess.

Meh. For Gen4:

Pull out your ashtray and you now have a place where you can get a good grip. Use your fingers and slowly pull on that opening. You'll be starting at the bottom and working your way up. Once its out, unplug the wires and you're done.

Reinstallation is in reverse.
