Angry I hang my head in shame, for I have lost.

Well, my buddy has a 95 Neon, and hes been wanting to run with me since he knew about my new car. Suprizingly enough....its a pretty quick car, we counted out 16 in the 1/4 *guestamate* Its all stock, 5 speed. Anyways....we went out to a old vacant road. Counted down Via walkie talkies and took off, Off the line he ripped it, causing major wheel spin, I have a slush box, so...I just went. Off the line, I took him, then he tore past me. WTF!!!!!!!!!! I know Camry's are no race cars.....but c'mon I got my ass handed to me in big ways, I did a brake launch, didn't work out too good I think. Ive noticed that my Camry only really kicks it around 3-5 rpms, after 5 im dead, if I shift at 5 I get hesitation, if I let it rip till 6, I get slow pick up after 5 but it tears into the next gear, also the off the line acceloration sucks, what can I do to fix this? Anything cheap?

neon? please tell me it was at least a 2dr sport 5spd, cuz i know those are "fast"

learn how to launch with a slushbox

right before the go, left foot brake, rpm up to 4000ish (only for a split second)

The reason you lost is because Camry's are slow.

Well at least stock ones are.

Race him again once he gets about 60 - 80k miles on it.

Then laugh at him as you pass him because his head gasket blew (if he hasn't had to have it changes at least once already).

Those Dodge 4's have big problems.

Now compare those reviews to the Camry.
Bland but beautiful.

I think my problem is the shifting, Like I said, I have rpm dead zones, what will fix my dead zones, once I get that fixed.....it will be alright. I have one dead zone after 5k rpm, then its shitty till 6, shifts then kicks the next gear. Ahh fuck it....Ill just pay this off, trick it out, save my money and get a 95 Mr-2 Turbo, That should solve those loosing problems:p

thanks for the compliments dude, but i still consider my car stock.. my intake and exhaust have given me max like 10hp, if half that. and coupled with the 159,000mi my family has chalked up, it probably evens itself out the real advantage is in the tranny, and moreso how i drive it.

10 months and counting till BOOST waahhhPSHHH

Well I was considering fast to be like a 13 sec car. 15 sec quarters are not fast to me. Closer to slow than fast IMO.

man, do you have any idea how much 95 turbos cost..?

not to mention how RARE they are..?

settle for a 93 turbo, even a 91...

hell if you find a 94, consider yourself lucky...

anyway, get Nitrous Oxide, just use it wisely, and get a reasonable "shot", i'd say a 50 or so...

play with the "o/d", and "pwr" buttons, until you find a good combination...

but if you ruin your tranny, it's your own fault...
