My car feels slow

I know it's due for oil change, tranny flush and coolant but man it feels mightly slow and sluggish!

Its a 94 Gen 3 V6 /w 154K on it. Just wondering what could be done to make it feel a little peppier. :o

that thing prolly just needs a major tune-up and some TLC. Change all the fluids, replace all filters, clean up carbon deposits etc... then lower it and slap on some 18s

Yeah, some Chrome 18'' 's will deifnatly help with performance. I am kidding if ya' couldn't tell! Clean all that throttle body stuff real good, especially that "butterfly thing!" <- (I think that is what Oldman calls it!)

I agree with phi.

All but the 18's :p they will make you even slower.

I would also ensure the oil change was to a full synthetic brand (Castrol Syntec) and buy a bottle of Toyota fuel injector cleaner from your local dealership and throw that in your next tank of gas.

i speak from experience... CHROME 18's do make you a tiny bit slower, but the improved look is INCREDIBLE.

FI cleaner and clean the TB

Fuel injector cleaner (Berryman's B-12 Chemtool F.I. cleaner or Lucas) and cleaning the Throttle Body should help...

Thanks for the info!

I'm going to get the coolant, tranny fluid and oil changed first... and I'll ask the dealer about cleaning the throttlebody?

Also I'm still wondering if my fuel filter needs to be changed... says nothing in the manual about it

cleaning the TB is easy, just take off the intake hose, get a bottle of TB cleaner and a toothbruss and give her a scrub, if you take it off you can get into the intake pleanum too

fuel filter is pretty easy, its under the air box, some people have weird ways of relievign the pressure, fuck that, just put a rag over the ratchet/wrench so it dosen't spray you in the face, there isn't much fuel that's going to come out

might want to use a flare wrench on the bottom just to be safe though

Dont foget the air filter. dirty air filters rob performance bigtime!

the big warning we get on the S-10 forums regarding Synthetic oil is if u switch after a certain mileage the synthetic is thinner and will leak in small cracks and whatnot that the normal thicker oil would not and many guys have had that happen when they switch at like 60-70k miles+ both V6 and I-4 i believe...also a good remedy would maybe be to find someone u know really well at a car dealership n get their special fuel system cleaner stuff if they have it...my friend did that on a 96 s-10 (through his buddies at a chevy dealership) he bought with i think 180k miles and it helped it out good...thing ran smooth all the time
