Question Auto 4 or 5 speed?????

I've got a 03 XLE V6 manufactored Apr 2003. Do I have a true 5 speed auto transmission or is it a 4 with the lock-up torque converter being the fifth??? or what??? I've read so many different things. Someone please enlighten me

either way it has 5 different speeds (gear ratios), no more, no less.

Just look at the dash, if you're car is a V6 and dash display has

PRND321 with OD button and NOT PRND21, then it has a 5spd.

I took delivery of my VVT-i V-6+5-spd Auto on 4/11/03 . It had five (5) miles on the odo. It just rolled over to 10,000!

Damn! I drive about a 110 miles a day to work (roundtrip) and I thought I had alot.
