Got my new Vogtland springs put on my Gen5 today. Gonna do a review of them for Jack (jdmwerks) too, since they were curious as to how they performed on the Gen5's. So far it's been pretty good. Went from a 4+ finger gap to a 2 finger in the front and back. Right around 1.5" right away. I'll measure some more over the next week or two and see how they settle out. Nice handling with a bit more bounce thanks to the MacPherson struts. Just have to wait for aftermarkets and hope the MP's hold out till then. The bounce isn't too bad though unless you hit a decent bump with both wheels. Haven't had a chance to take it out on a windy road yet cause I still need to get an alignment. Every place was closed by the time I got around to it today.
I took quite a few pics of before and after (and a few of my puppy to finish off the roll of film) and I will get them developed soon. Definitly improved the overall look, and made the wheels look a bit bigger (as commented on by my fiancee, one of the first things she noticed), and now I'm looking at throwing some of these on there. If anyone is looking for some of the Enkei made Toyota rims, I'll probably be selling mine if I decide to get these.

Well, the pictures came out crap. That's what I get for using a disposable camera. This has made me decide that it is time to invest in a digital camera. But anyway, here are some of the pics. From the measurements, it lowered about 1.25" front and back straight off.

It's a boro style grill conversion I learned from Jaspher. The 5th gen grills are chrome that were then painted over with the black. You can tell if you see any little rock chips on the grill, it's silver under that black. Jaspher says that he used Verethane laquer and varnish remover to get his black paint off, and it worked real easy, just spread on, wait for paint to bubble, and spray off with water. I couldn't find any of that stuff, and tried about 4 different products myself, and nothing worked easy, but it did work. Had to use quite a bit of elbow grease, but after a few coats and some cleanup with fingernail polish remover, the front surface came out pretty well. I am still working on getting the paint out of the diamond shaped areas with pipe cleaners though. Left side is done but still need to do the right. If you wanna see a pic of Jaspher's grill too, check out this.
On the springs, I picked up the Vogtlands from Jack for about $200 shipped. Install was $150 at a local shop (since I dont' have the proper equipment to do it at home), and alignment was the standard $60 (getting that done right now).
No idea on the sportivo stuff other than keep an eye on ebay. There seems to be a high demand for thsi kit over here, so I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before someone starts selling them. I think some people are trying to get intouch with dealers over there in australia, but I don't know what the status is.
