whats goin on...i was jsut wondering in the ct26 turbo is ok for my 5sfe....im going to be doinng a turbo conversion and before i buy it i want to make sure the it will function properly...thanks
yeah it should be fine. i am using the same turbo for my turbo conversion (3s-fe). one of the main reasons for using it is that it will bolt straight up to the GT4/MR2 exhaust manifold that has the turbo flange and will fit straight on our engines.
do a search, there is a lot of info, an especially good thread was complete instructions on how to turbo a 5s-fe. if you can't find it, tell me cause i've got it on my computer somewhere and i can dig it up and send it to you.
yes it will definitely work and is a great turbo to get if you are putting together your own setup. you can find MUCH info on how to do this on the mr2 forums, theres a link to them on my webpage if you need it.

No.
What the others are trying to say is that it'll do 14psi efficiently. 20psi max.
Theres compressor maps for turbos that show the adiebadic efficiency. Its a plot of airflow (lb/min) vs. pressure ratio.
The idea is to stay within the center circle where the turbo is most efficient. Your not going to get 100% efficiency cos theres always going to be heat as a byproduct of compressing air. Air gets hot when it compresses.
hey thanx for the help....i already know what compressor maps are and how to read them and so forth (i didn't see one for the ct26)....I'm just wondering what the limit for the ct26 is....i'm new to this turbo...i know that for a 9b, stock on a vr4, it'll hold between 11-14 to redline depending on condition, and really doesn't boost past 17 psi, after that its jsut hot air. So i am looking for the same thing on a ct26, those of ya that have pushed the turbo as far as can go should have the answer to this.

From what I have seen by both looking at similar compressor maps and MKIII Supra/MR2 owners, the sweet spot for the stock CT-26 is between 11-12psi... Once you get up to 14 psi, it would start to push hot air and make less HP/psi. The highest I have seen is 20 psi on a stock CT-26, but there were no power gains when going from 18 to 20 psi.
I would run a stock CT-26 up to 12 psi at maximum. If you plan to run more than 12 psi, I would suggest to get the CT-26 upgraded or get a completely new turbo
