any of you watching mythbusters right now? the experiment where they are trying to crack a windshield? the are using a gen 3.5 camry.. poor thing!!

i didnt see it, but most of the time they have cool cars to beat on.
they did the acetone thing to a gen3 as well. i wanted to slap them and send them my acetone mpg numbers on my gen3 proving they suck. i do like the show though.

I've wanted to see the episode where they tested the aceton, as well as other car myths, but I never saw it. Do you know by any chance what season and episode that was?

Geoff i did try the acetone trick, for about 1000 miles. I noticed little or no difference in mpg but the car did run just a little better. If there was a difference i couldnt tell - and i kept careful records before i got bored and quit keeping track.
A gallon of Acetone at Walmart is like $12 which ought to be several months supply. The recommended concentrate is 1 oz per 10 gallons, which in the typical Camry (19 to 20 gallon tank) means, put in 2 to 3 oz per tankful and not any more. BEFORe you pump the gas. I used a shot glass (Walmart again).
