2 Gen Power window problems!

not sure exactly what it is (maybe regulators from what Ive seen on here), but my windows always go up so damn slow, and when they hit the weather stripping, there's too much friction between the two and it pulls out stripping. So I guess my first question is: Could it be my regulators that cause my windows to roll up so damn slow, and if so, how much wud they cost? 2nd question, is there any kinda lube i cud put on the weatherstripping that wudnt smudge the top of my window that wud allow the glass to glide over the stripping other than pulling it out? Thanx guys...

the slowness your experienceing has to do with your charging system. your system pulls power, AC,lights, Etc. and thenwhen you try to move windows, they hardly get any juice.

you could upgrade alternators or upgrade the "magic 3" wires

the wires are:
1. alt to batt (+)
2. Batt. to ground chassis
3. Engine to Chassis (ground)

the engine is the best ground in your entire car, but connecting it to the Chassis it provides a link to any metal surface in the car.

batt to chassis is a simple ground point. by connecting to chassis it is also connected to the engine block

alt to batt increases charging capabilities.

use no smaller wire than 4 guage.

Thats not necessarily the case. My front passanger side window is significantly slower than the rest and its NOT from insufficient power. I just havent been able to find the time to pull the door apart. Make sure the regulator tracks are well lubricated. If that doesnt help, you could pickup a window motor from the junkyard somewhere in the range or $25-$75.
