hey ive been trying to do research on VIS Racing and the coilovers they supposedly have for our Gen3 Camry's with little success.

Jeff: i know you are gonna be putting these on your ride so maybe your the best to ask for this...

How much CAN is VIS asking for the coilover kit?

What does the kit consist of? Can I choose? If so it'd probably be a H&R/Tokico combo.

I understand that they arent true coilovers, just sleeves, but have they been proven to work on Gen3's or are they just prototyping it?

thanks. if you havent ordered them yet, maybe we can get a small discount if we order them together...

VIS coilovers can be had for $625CDN + taxes. Install will be about $125 "cash". They're done with the prototyping and they're ready to ship. Their CDN distributor is Total Performance Source at Newmarket. Their number 1-888-202-3335. TPS is also the distributor for NOPI.

Someone on the Camryman board said he had problems with it. Anyone know what came out of that?? Haven't checked CM in a long time. I think the hang up was whether the spring perch on the strut had to be shaved or not.

I don't think there is a choice of springs. As for stuts, its just whatever you install it on.

Alright, cool, but does that mean i have to get struts separately ?

If I dont choose the spring, what spring will they use, a custom one? Im unfirmiliar with how these coilover "sleeves" work.

thanks for the info.

Yes, you will have to get struts sepearately, unless you want to keep using your stock ones. But its better to upgrade both at the same time.

As for the springs, I don't think its brand name (like how Ground Control uses Eibach). So I don't know what they use.

IMO, VIS coilovers are garbage. Their "performance" products are in the same class as crap from Ractive and WeaponR.

Good idea. You can't go wrong with an H&R/Tokico combo.

Apparently, the process is not since it requires modification of the struts. Shiat!! Also, the springs are linear, not progressive, which means a rough ride. Me poor ginnea pig!! Hopefully, it won't be a POS as SW20 MR2 says, but I havent' heard good things about VIS, or coilover sleeves in general.

GC makes quality products. They use Eibach ERS springs and correctly choose the appropriate spring rates for each car.
