Due to my friend having an unfortunate accident, he is parting out his eclipse. his 97 eclipse has the same lug nut pattern as the camry. As of right now i do not know the full dimensions of the tire/wheel but do know thye are 18's. First of all though, would white rims even look good on a white 92 camry? Tell me what ya'll think if you please. Long time since i posted here, since the whiteline g/b, been too busy with learnin audio. below is the pic of the wheels on his former car. I am looking on the net right now to find a better one...
Someone on Camryman has a white Solara with white TE37 rims... looks sweet!

That's the right lug pattern and the right offset. You may have to get new tires though. 225-40-18 is the optimal tire size for Camry. White on white would look good.

I'm SUPER, thanks for asking;
All things considered I couldn't be better I must say.
I'm feeling SUPER, no, nothing bugs me;
Everything is SUPER when you're...
thanks for the research spectrablue...and for reminding me, im about to call him up to get the specs on the wheels/tires.
edit:
got more information:
they are Montegi Racing MR7 ...thats a pic of them
anyways they are exactly the wheel you said spectra...225-40-18, so im trusting they would work fine for my camry. I am still waiting to look over them and see if they have any damage done to them. the tires as well.

I just read the post about the 20 inch rims...i agree kinda overboard. I am not very learned in this area of cars...could somebody maybe explain advantages and disadvantages of bigger wheels. Could I bend the rim if i hit a small pothole or the likes. again thanks for the help
Bigger rims means that you have less sidewall on your tires if you want to keep your overall diameter relatively the same as stock... in order to keep your speedo from being too inaccurate. Less sidewall means that depending on the road conditions where you drive, your rims will be at a greater risk of getting bent from small potholes or getting scratched from curbs, if you cannot parallel park as well as me! :grin:
Another disadvantage of bigger rims is that they are heavier, which can slow you down. Even if you do manage to get lightweight rims that are that big, the weight distribution is too spread out, which will also slow you down.
Lastly, you have to look at the physical constraints. A Camry is not a 4x4. 20" rims are way too big to fit in our wheel wells. Add the fact that your car is probably lowered, you will have your tires tucking into your fenders which = ugly.

ahh a very positive look on getting bigger rims...so the only advantage is looks...hmm,i might have to think baout this purchase. The thing is since he is my bud im probably gonna get some 1200 rims for around 400, maybe less considering he is second owner and they have been through a crash, thanks for the help though.
You're welcome. As Speedemn pointed out correctly, keeping the overall circumference of the tire as close to stock as possible is very important. The the increased size of the wheel must be offset by decreased height of the sidewall.
Advantages:
1. looks - must lower the car if you're going with 18s, otherwise, it will produce the opposite visual impression of raising the car
2. handling - less sidewall = less flex around corners, given that you have the suspension to match
Disadvantages:
1. rotational inertia - bigger rims are heavier and the weight is located further outward (if you are swinging an object tied to the end of a rope, the object will require more force be moved from stationary the longer the rope is)
2. harsh ride - less sidewall = less rubber to absorb bumps
3. risk of rim damage - must check tire pressure regularly to prevent this, inflate to 38-40psi and you should be okay, also easier to scuff your rims along curbs

Well, believe it or not....I got my Tantrum 18" from my friend's Ecilipse....so I can tell you the size and bolt patern is absolutely perfect (should be something like 40--45mm)....
About 20" rims....think about feeling every single bumps and rocks on the road and you will get those rims BENT in less then a month (I garantee that...) and you CANNOT afford to fix them...not to mentioned those $300 each tires that will last you like 6 months only..
18" is the way to go and white rims on white car....PERFECT and looks great..
Resell them, make a 100% - 200% profit at least and the buy rims that actually suit your car.

Ahh once again thanks for the advice. I am still waiting to see the rims, but my car is not lowered, so I think they may not give a very good look, not sure about the whole thing, going to pop em on and see what they look like. At school today.i wastalking about dropping the car. a kid asked what car i had,told him camry. Gave the reply...Why would you want to drop a camry...yea its still faster than his eclipse gs.
