Question Blacked out tail light?

What's up!

I was just wondering, like couple days ago I saw this black integra, and the tail lights were like dark red color.. well almost black if you look from far away. So here comes the question, you can paint the whole tail light with dark red paint right? and it'll still light up when breaking, turn signal, etc? Or is it like a tape over it or what the heck is it anyway?

it's just black paint, but I don't like it, it just look too ... fabricated
I prefer m3 style, white on red.

in any case, DON'T go driving at night, If youre not satisfied with the light intensity, because for one its very dangerous, and cops and insurance companies might screw you over bigtime ...

*edit* since you have a gen3 aswell, should you go through with it, show me some pictures, might change my idea about it

in that case.. i could just red out my turn signals. They are yellow. So i can make them red. That'll look cool too I think.

that's what I would do, I'm still a bit wondering if I shouldn't buy me white ones, actually, I will buy white ones, but for now, untill I hear from jon again, I would like to make em red... I'm only wondering how to take the lense of, or even replace it, because it's ugly on EU camry's, they've got some weird extra form in them

I painted over the rear blinkers (amber part) with Testors transparent candy apple red paint.

i think he means smoked...

well, you can buy smoked taillights, but i'm not sure if they're available for Gen. 3 Camrys...

if you're talking about BLACK taillights, then i think GTO makes taillight covers...

they provide good protection during the day, but at night, you wont be emiting enough light, so take them off...
