What makes a 3rd gen an XLE/LE/SE? Other q's

What is the difference between a 3rd gen xle/le/se?

Is there some place on the car that lists the options it came with (eg my old car had numbers on the spare tire cover that I could look up).

What size speakers are in the 'trunk' of a 3rd gen wagon?

Whats the easiest way to get rid of the chrome trim? Are there any DIY kits, or should I just take it somewhere and have them strip and paint it black?

Whats the box under my passanger seat?

Anyone whos removed the chrome.. what did you do? (btw.. ive searched the forums a bunch and can't find any answers to my q's).

My LE wagon has like 6 speakers (including tweeters in the doors.. factory.. and I think tweeters or something in the trunk area on the sides), the stereo is like other LE's, but has a built in EQ. Was that an option? I know 7-8 people with 3rd gen LE's, but have never seen the EQ stereo with tweeters, and apparently an amp.

Also, if a Camry has ABS, is it all wheel, or only front wheel?

well it looks like you have an xle wagon, they came with better stereo, hence the tweeters and amp. and chrome...

if you have 4 wheel disk, which i think you should, then you have 4wheel abs

Yea.. I have 4 way discs.. I have an 'ABS' light when I turn my car on (my moms 95 LE doesn't). I did the 40-0 test on dirt today and it definately slipped.. so I know I have ABS.

As for XLE.. It is tagged as a LE though.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting <- this is it.

Note the funky tweeters in the doors. I also don't have automatic climate control (or is that 4th gen xle?)

4 wheel disc brakes comes with the V6 engine and has nothing to do with trim. ABS might, I don't know.

I think Camry XLE doesn't have automatic climate control until model year 2000.

So what accessories (leather?) make a 3rd gen a XLE? I have looked and cannot find a list anywhere.

XLE have traction control.

At least for the 1995-96 models.
