Hey I was supprised to find no results on this search in TN beucase I know some people will do any thing for some extra hp. Well that some body is me because I could care less about being cool in my car because I ride around constantly with my windows down any how.
My questions are(this may be stupid but I know nothing about the ac) Does taking off the ac mean no air what so ever....like no heat no outside air? Or does it just mean no cold ass air?
Also I want to take it off but what size belt will I need then instead of the belt I have going over the ac?
I know I know cheep hp mod but hey I dont use it so why care? Thanks people!
Thanks for the tip....do you know what belt size I would need to cut out the ac? Oh and also off subject but its my thread so......where is all the cruise control stuff loacted and can I take it out due to the fact my cruise dosnt work anyway!?

For the AC removal - bypassing the compressor is just a matter of removing it (or its pulley - but thats pointless) then using a shorter belt like you mentioned. You can get many different size belts from your local CarQuest. I know a former member on this board did it on his Gen3 3VZ. Search for posts from "DS - TTCC" that was his nick. Also like crazy_camry said, finish the job and remove the AC condensor (heavy), evaporator, lines, etc. etc... you will free up lots of space as well as weight. I know for sure you will free up at least an inch or two from behind the bumper if you remove the condensor (valuble intercooler real estate).
For the cruise removal... Its the big anonymous black box sitting directly to the left of the battery. It will be obvious because it has two throttle cables coming out the side. The best way to remove it is to go to the dealership and order the throttle cable from a NON-cruise Gen3 camry and use that. Then just yank the old useless actuator out which is easy... take out the battery - remove 3 bolts - unplug the harness connected to the actuator, and pull it out along with all the throttle cables connected to it. You will be shocked with how much room you have when you ditch this beast.

if you ever tern on the a/c dont remove the hole thing just the belt.if you ever put it back on i cost up the ass for the gas,if you will never use it and whant to get rid of a few pounds get rid of the whole thing
Cool yeah I think I will be taking off the cruise then real soon. That throttle cable shouldnt be to much! The belt size I just have to take a tape measure and wrap it around the pullys to find the right size right?! And then I will take off all the extra BS because if Im not gonna use it why have it! thanks all
I have a question am I the only one that is going this far out to lighten my car like with only one seat no radio, no ac, no anything, no spare tire hole, no nothing? Maybe Im just crazy but these all seem like obvious things to do? Go big or go home!
Well, it's all finished! I now have a new, smaller belt in place of my old belt, and have successfully cut the A/C out of the loop in terms of pulleys and belt routing. Please check out the following pic before you read the next section, for clarification:
Okay! So as you can see, I had anticipated some interference between the A/C pulley and the new belt route. To my surprise, there is no iterference. The new belt slid right in place. There are two nuts that secure the alternator in place, both running parallel to the crankshaft (think!!) and then the adjuster. You MUST loosen the two alternator bolts before the alternator will move. You then start undoing that adjuster bolt (long one perpendicular to the crank) until you can get the old belt off. If, while you are undoing it, the adjuster bolt starts to undo but the alternator does not move, tap it on the head with a hammer (the bolt, NOT the alternator) This will get the alternator moving and allows you to get the old belt off. The new belt is a regular serpentine belt (21mm). The belt I put on was 960mm long, but it was a little too long. I would suggest to the rest of you, to go with something in the vacinity of 850-900mm. Right now I am at the upper end of my adjustment area, so tightening it isn't going to happen. I tightened the belt to the point where I can no longer turn the middle area over 90 degrees. It is still a little looser than I would like but It'll have to do until later this week. I will be picking one up as CarQuest and I will update this post on Saturday maybe if I get around to doing it.
As for performance, I didn't notice much in the way of performance because of the fact that I was VERY concerned about the belt being too loose, as I didn't have a tensioner. However, I commute to work daily and I have seen a LARGE increase in gas mileage. I have attained almost 400kms at half-tank (V6, wow!) which is at least 50kms more than normal. That would be about 15% better, right Math boys?? Seems to be anyway. That's at about 3000rpm, and I really haven't pushed it too far. I have dyno time booked for Saturday at 2pm, so I can let you know what my baseline numbers are, but I have no numbers before that. I'll use these numbers for now, and compare them to when I get my ignition system and y-pipe. That should give us a little bit more idea of it's worth. Anyway, post questions below!

Well the doors are stripped and the locking mechs have been taken out of them because they are about to be shaved. The carpet and all dampening stuff on the floors are gone. The dash is being custom formed to mock the oem out of carbon fiber! Bo YA! LoL I got it all ready. Im thinking of having the door trim out of carbon fiber too just not sure if I want them bare or not!
Im thinking any more less weight and my monster machine V6 even with a LSD w/ a turbo the wheels will just spin. Hey I have 17" spinning rims BORO style!!! ha ha ha...bling bling.!!!
