DIY alignment and an AC question

In the Haynes manual I have it says to have an experienced tech perform an alignment, but I've also heard that you can DIY provided you know what to measure and since the only thing I can adjust is Toe-in I figured it might not be that hard, any suggestions on how I'd do this?
Also, my AC just isn't cold, is there anything I should check for, or does the system just need to be Recharged? (I think thats the right term anyway)
92 v6le, thanks

Nope, my alignments just really off, I'm thinking the FR Toe-in is off because I'm drifting to the right a fair amount.

Please explain how an alignment can be done without an alignment machine.

I've seen a alignment tool kit for diy'ers. It comes with a few aluminium bars and a guage. It'll do toe, camber, and castor.

I forget the who makes it, but i've seen one before cos my buddy borrowed one from his friend and used it on his Mustang.

R-12 is still around, its just expensive.

R-134a is cheap, but you have to convert over if you currently use R-12.

R-12 retrofit kit is cheap (30.00), comes with everything. but it doesn't come with a gauge..buy one cause if you overfill, say bye bye.

Check out www.tirerack.com, they've got the alignment kits you'll need. If you can't find them, just add them to your cart like you want to buy them.
