HALOGEN HID-like Bulbs

I don't like my 'yellow' stock lights

ok, i searched through most of the previous posts on this forum, and I want to make sure this is all correct.

1) my 2001 camry, I should be ok with the silverstar halogen's at 60w or the 55w Razo's. The wiring won't burn out on me.

2) The higher you go in temperature, the "whiter" the color is but I sacrifice light (lumnens) output levels.

Razo halogen's:
-Premium White ZERO - 4550k temp
-Premium White - 4100k temp

Silverstar high performance halogen:
4k temp, 1000 lumens

3) So, according to this above info.. The 2 Razo's are more 'white' than the silverstar??

4) Anyone have experience with these bulbs?? how are they comparing in brightness??

5) If I go too white, is it really bad in bad weather??

thanks

Go with Silverstars.........always recommended by HID Knuts

Silverstars may not have the flashy ricer advertising (except for that gay ass TV commercial)...but they are the best quality and you don't have to worry about your wires melting on you.

I have them in my company van and they are pretty good.

I've thought about those, but $25/bulb.... ouch. I've got the GE halogen cool blues! Considerably brighter than stock, well worth the $17/pair at Walmart! My driving lights are also Halogen, H3s actually, and they have a brighter light than my headlights.

True...but comparing Silverstars to Razo, I would choose Silverstar......but if I was on my "Budget of 1998" I wouldn't shell out $40 for a pair of lights.

That's what I thought. On a slight sidenote, has anyone tried out Sylvania's Cool Blues? I tried those, but they were less bright than my GE. Same with APC's superwhites; more expensive, not as bright. Any comments?

Well it depends......if you are just going for color, there are all kinds of options, including PIAA, APC and Cool Blues.....but if you want bright useable light and quality, thats where Silverstars step up, they are made by Sylvania as well.

I'd prefer the bright, useful type of light, not just for looks... I may try those, I could've used them tonight; drove the county backroads @ 12AM after it had rained.. a little hard to see Thanx.

WalMart has most of those sizes too at $37 a pair......

I'm not sure, but the 900x lamps are what 99.9% of cars have.

By the way 9003 is also H4...but that's the only exception, all those other H4XXX must be variations for motorcycles.

Well i dont have any of the lights that you are asking about, however i bought these "Crystal Hyper White" lights that had 4200k and they were from 3A Racing Performance. They do real well and light up everything in crystal clear white. I picked them up at Pep Boys for about $40 a pair. Personally they are doing great and do what i expected them to. So if thats any help.

i have silverstars, and even though they are 45 bucks a pair at walmart (at least, around here), they are a lot whiter and brighter (my gen 3 head lights just weren't bright enough, but the silverstars did the trick... plus i re aimed them up a little bit ) I was thinking about buying on of those cheap xenon HID kits on EBAY (before i knew what I was doing) but I think I made the right choice going with silverstars...

I just bought my Silverstars from Advance Auto Parts yesterday.... DAMN, that's a big difference from the GE Super Blues I was using. Considerably brighter at night and covers more of the street. All these benefits for only $20/bulb! Highly recommended.
