Anyone have some pointers, step-by-step instructions(on installation?), hints, good products, Websites(Camry specific?)...... pretty much any HELP you could give me on installin a sweet ass intake?!? Need some more power in the old 92 family sedan So pleeze any help would be appreciated...
I bought my intake off of some guy on ebay... very cheap... 25$ or so and its been in a few months and works fine. Nice filter (K&N style). I know the v6 requires a lot more hardware so it may be more money but you should find a decent inexpensive one on ebay. My one complain was the rubber coupling. It was too big for the camry throttle body so i had to cut it and duct tape it... blah big mess... but its good now.

Not to say that a CAI wouldn't be helpful, but the stock air intake pipe seems to be in a very ideal location to pull in fresh cold air as it is. If you follow the pipe at the bottom of the stock airbox, you'll see that it takes the air coming in from the bumper hole under the driver side headlight. Air goes in that hole, is deflected up by one of the horns, and up into the air box. If you put an open cone filter like that in the engine bay, you'll be sucking in more hot air than anything else.
As it's been said, please use the search function... As a quick answer to your question, search for a Camry intake on Ebay. You'll find that you can purchase an adaptor/bracket that allows an aftermarket cone filter to be installed on the end of the stock air filter pipe. Very cheap. Check out my webpage (see sig) for my intake install on a 4 banger. Good luck.

The AEM cold air intake is made for 94-95 V6's.
The 92-93 V6's have a different air flow meter, BUT, with the special AFM adapter, Im positive the AEM CAI will work, and in the worst case maybe a bit of the AEM piping might need to be shortened (due to the size of the AFM).
on a gen 2, 3, 4, 5... isn't the MAF a small black box that has a sensor that bolts right up to the airbox then feeds out to a pipe leading to the manifold? if like my gen 1, is the case, then when the CAI is installed, does it come with a new larger sensor?
on my gen 3 4cyl i dont have a maf. all i had to worry about was the temp sensor. and even that for the first 2 years i had my intake i left the sensor hangin in the engine bay and i only drilled a hole and put it in the pipe maybe a month or 2 ago.
no thats not what i mean. my engine doesnt come with a maf at all. i didnt have to worry about taking it off the car. i didnt have one to mess wit. how bout you buy a bigger maf like for a ford or nissan or somethin and rewire it to work with the toyota system???? it shouldn't be too hard you just need to wire it up correctly.
