Yea heaven forbid someone have a valid reason like wanting to know if the motor is the original motor, or has been swapped out. What was I thinking.

I bought a low mileage used engine and I would like to make sure the donor engine vin matches the donor cars chassis vin. I would be real pissed if the salvage yard shipped the wrong/different engine.

It is a 2.2L I4 from a 96camry le sedan

Heres a pic of it on my 3S-FE. Its the little metal strip attached to the block.
