I don't know what model you've got, but in general, there's nothing like a blower to enhance low end torque. Five years or so ago, I owned a Buick Regal GS, which is supercharged from the factory (I cringe each time I admit that on a Toyota board...). Compared to the normally aspirated version of the 3.8L V-6, this cars engine felt like it could snap your neck if you weren't careful with the gas pedal. At 240 hp and 280 ft-lb of torque (and a very wide curve, i.e. full torque comes on very early), that car was good for 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Too bad it wasn't much good for anything else. . .
Oh, yeah, personally I'm partially to superchargers over turbos (my Dad's gone through a couple Saab turbos, so that's my comparison point). Superchargers have no lag at all. Step on it, and the tires are burning right now. They also run much cooler than exhaust driven turbos. On the other hand, the S/C being belt driven, is a constant drag on the engine, normally costing 2-3 mpg in normal automotive use. Turbo users put up with some lag, but the compressor is driven by recovered waste energy, thus, little or no mpg penalty.
