I'm planing do remodel my interior a bit, I got black camry with brown interior so I'm planing to paint it all black soon. But the floor molded carpet is beige color so it won't match the interior, so here goest my question, any of you guys found a way to make your own carpet or something to cover the old one up? I know you can buy a new black molded carpet for like 120 bucks but I was looking for something more cheaperLOL I was thinking to get that regular black carpet they sell at AutoZone and some how affix it over the original one, anyone tried to do that or maybe did the same some other way?
Thanks, any comments would be appreciated.

I know what you talking about, I bought that kind of paint already at AutoZone for my interior, but would it really work on carpet? Wouldn't it just paint the top and make it all fuzzy? Maybe I should try it on piece of carpet under the back seat. Hm..

what i plan on doing is gutting my whole interior (seats and console)
and pulling out he old carpet and use it as a pattern for new carpet that i buy. just trace the outline of the factory onto the big piece of new that you get and go at it with a box cutter.
then can add the little cushion foam things where feet rest are under the carpet like factory.

now that'll be a shitload of work.....:p
if you can just cover-up, then why not, eh?

i thought about trying to go to a junk yard and look for a gen 3 with leather... then take the seats out and if it is back, take everything else out from the interior (trim, carpet, etc.) probably hard to find a gen 3 though
well over here in NJ, Parsippany our auto Wreckers all have one price on leather seats for a camry, 255 for the WHOLE thing i donno why i dont save up money and just get it, i always forget! i just had fckn 400 in my wallet the other month, and i spent it on useless shit (ps2, vice city, Okay maybe not useless) but still,.....u in pa, if u drove like some miles ud get a good deal here i guess? is 255 cheap for leather ? the back and the two front? and the Arm rest, ....and the Door trim i guess?

he's saying to just pull the original carpet out. then trace the pattern of it onto a new piece of car floor carpet. cut out the tracing and then install.
i don't think it would work since the stock carpet is "molded" not just cut out of flat sheet. i'd either find a used one from a junkyard or order online from a reputable aftermarket manufacturer.
cant be just any carpet, has to be stretchable and moldable. not house carpet or anything.
ill be ordering tweed to cover consoles, dash, and about almost everything in my car. im redoing my whole interior for show.
then the carpet will be pulled also and replced with new matching carpet to the tweed. while im at it im going to soundproof my car with deadner. the whole damn car as i will be competing.
