Yes I agree, very good condition for a Gen. 2. Not that they're rustbuckets or anything, but ask almost anyone else who owns a gen. 2 Camry and they'll tell you that there's rust somewhere. Most of the time it seems to be in the fenders.
Odd is this may sound, my Camry has virtually no rust on it. Very odd indeed.

Hmm, yeah, I guess location and weather is a considerable factor too. Since I live in Louisiana, it virutally never snows here, and so I don't have to worry about road salt or anything.

Thanks all for the compliments... Up here in my neck of the woods (New York) most gen2's have rusted in some manner or another. Usually the fenders up front go first, and then the fuel filler door rod on which the hinges are attached rots off taking the door with it. Frito you ask about future mods... I plan to concentrate mainly on having a nice driver that looks and runs well. To that effect, maintenance is done regularly (new frt pads and rotors this week... hopefully), and I add some custom stuff here and there.
However, I did add one thing just yesterday that made an enormous difference in handling and steering... you guessed... the miracle strut tower brace! My fellow gen2 brothers who have yet to get one-- do it ASAP! It's amazing! Flatter, more stable cornering, and the steering is far tighter too. I found mine on Ebay for $30 and that included shipping and UPS insurance. You won't believe it... I'll get a pic up on my cardomain site soon. (I have the pic now but I'm too lazy to dl it this late at night)
Later this week I'm getting a Sun 2 5/8" mini tach at Advance Auto as well as a GT-R (Skyline style) emblem for my frt. grille to replace the Toyota sombrero until I can't take being laughed at anymore. My dad will disown me... bwahahahaha... Also I'm installing custom pedals, custom shift knob and boot, and doing some custom paint... I have an inverted cone filter and I might make an intake for it to get rid of that unsightly rubber thing.
For the time being, I can't make it truly run good (by good I mean fast, if it wasnt for the slight vibration through the wheel I'd think it wasnt running! Purrs like a kitten...) without going hardcore on it (ripping the motor apart and swapping internals). What I like most about this car is it's rather subtle... so you can cover ground surprisingly quickly without drawing attention to yourself
Wow that was a long post... I'm out...
Steve

Very spiffy! Yeah, it's surprising how a simple addition of a strut tower brace can make such noticable differences.
As for the intake, if you're willing to shell out the money, you can get in touch with a company called E.L. Prototypes. They now mass produce (thanks to a group buy some time ago, started by fellow TNers! ) cold air intake kits for the gen. 2 Camry. Mine will be here this Thursday (can't wait).
And hey, it's ok if you don't decide to dig deep into the Camry. I know I plan to, but then again, I still have a lot to learn, and speaking of which, I learn something new almost everyday! If you take your time and research, and read up on posts submitted by other Camry lovers, you'll be surprised at all that you can find. For me, Toyota Nation, and especially the Team SC3 forums, were awesome places to start for me.
Keep the gen. 2 flyin'!

Xavior... please tell me about this SC3 site. I've heard a lot about it, if you could give me a link to the site that would be great. Also you can now see my strut tower brace at cardomain... go to the site (it's in my sig, but I can't figure out how to make a link of it so kindly cut and paste) then look at the last pic on page 3. God I love this brace, it changed the attitude of the car completely!
As of now, I fully intend to keep the gen2 flying as long as possible...
Steve

There's your link to Team SC3. An awesome, award winning team that shows what Toyotas are made of.
I remember when I first saw that sight I nearly wet myself! I didn't know there'd actually be a site and team made up of Camrys! I'm very happy though that such a place exists. It's pretty much the last word in Camrys, and it's where all Camrys of all generations can get together for...............hot lovin'! :p
But yeah. Take your time. Make sure to use the search button, and also make sure to read up on the 3S-FE engine (if you have an I4 gen. 2) if you're interested in performance and such.
