3S-FE internals (pics)

Well I finally got around to taking the pistons and rods out of my block.

Some of you know that I melted a piston running 10 psi boost. The piston is more f**ked up then I thought it was.

Intercooler man, it's called an intercooler j/k

white90dx will be the next in line to have your kit btw. Hope he keeps the boost low and cooled.

Uhh, I've been outta the loop for a few months now, but did someone say Charlie's (white90dx)Camry got wrecked? NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! that was like the ultimate gen2 as far as i saw it... im (belatedly) sorry to hear about it- damn!

I forget how many miles were on the engine before I boosted it. It had a 170,364 when it blew up.

The engine was in good condition before I boosted it. I did a compression and leakdown test.

The cylinder walls are fine, crankshaft is good, and the bearings are fine. Just a melted piston.

So, theoretically, you could give the cylinders a quick hone, slap a new set of pistons in there ($108 from http://performancemotorcars.com/), and be up and running again, yeah? Since you sold the turbo, you got other plans for your motor?
