Is there anyway to make my AT shift alot smoother or to change it for the better in anyway? gen4 camry 4cly.
I rode in a Lexus and i couldnt even feel it shift!.. why cant toyota but that tranny in my car :sad:

I assume you have a 4yl. The shifts are always smoother in a bigger engine with auto tranny.

However you can get your tranny beefed up, for smoother shifts, faster engagement, etc from Level 10. http://www.levelten.com I believe.

smoother shifts isn't necessarily better for the tranny. if you have cruise control, give the cruise control throttle valve cable as much slack as possible and it will be very smooth...it's usually right under the throttle cable.

I don't think the levelten TC would give smoother shifts. Remember that everything performance-oriented will have a drawback on everyday driveability - i.e. smoth shifts.

Just theorizing. Tony, any input??

Actually you're right. I take what I said back about smoothness. I was thinking more along the lines of having a beefier (better performing) tranny.
