Question Squeaky axels and brakes

Ok, here is the problem. I notice sometimes my wheels squeak when they are rolling. I have tried to listen to what it is and i can only figure it is my axels. My brakes also sqeak a lot when I use them. Is it time to change my brake pads? What can I do about these problems. Thanks
Ryan

Does anyone have any input on this? I would like to hear any idea you may have on what I can do.

I had the same problem with my gen. 2 Camry. Not sure if this'll work for your genereation of Camry, but what I did was jack up the car, take off the tire, and take off the caliper. There should be 2 thin little metal plates, which are called anti-squeal shims (hmmmmmmmm ). At least on mine there were. What I found out was that the front driver's side (where the squealing was coming from) was missing the anti-squeal shims, whereas the passenger's side had them and did not squeal. I went to my local Toyota dealership and had them order me some and when I put them on the problem stopped. Hope this helps some! (Oh, and check your brake pads. If they're worn, replace 'em! This too could also be the problem!)

I've been having the same problem but I had recently changed my brake pads and rotors. The sqeaking stopped after I had the new pads and rotors installed but it came back after a few weeks...

Then whats the way to get rid of the noise? I just did a search and got only 3 posts when I know that there were hundreds of these threads about squeeling brakes.

OK get your squeeler shims clean and INSTALLED properly first. Replace your rotors and pads if you need to!

Take the BACK of the pad (the part that touches the caliper piston) and put a big glob of HIGH TEMP silicone on there. Place it right where the piston touches the pad. SO basically you are siliconing the pad to the caliper piston.

The silicone with help with some of the noise!

If you need....I can get you good deals on rotors and pads!

Drilled, slotted, high performance, two piece rotors or AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE...I can hook it up!

PM me if you need them!

And Good Luck!
