Question Indiglo Gauges flickering???

Hey guys,

I have a question to ask. I today installed some Sylvania Silverstar 9006 into my camry 2000. I have the indiglo reverse gauges (glows blue) also installed, and it was installed a while back. The indiglo gauges have worked fine for the last 6 months or so, but after i installed the silverstar, the gauges would flicker, dim really darkly, come back brightly, and do this over and over. It started doing this the same day after i installed the silverstars.

Are the silverstars sucking too much of the battery, causing the indiglo gauges to flicker? or is my battery about to die on me (i have 67,000 miles on my camry and have not changed my battery yet). I've never really heard any of my friends who installed silverstars and had this happen with their indiglo gauges. If it's just my battery, i can go get a new one...

btw, just a quick question...when should batteries be changed, like after how many miles, etc? i don't want to be driving on a long trip and have my battery die on me.

thanks for any help

i say change your battery every 2 or 3 years, also if your gauges are flickering while the engine is running then you may want to check the alternator as this is what provides your vehicle with power once the engine is running. I really cant see that the different bulbs would make that much difference if any.
