rrright, i dont think a forum that has been down for more than a month has the right to claim the title of best Camry/Solara forum. from a business viewpoint, what TeamSC3 has been doing as far as their forums has been a total mess. you cant offer users of your website a feature like forums and then just take it away from them, you lose their trust and they will go elsewhere. but anyways...
we all know CMPL is the biggest as far as user activity and they have been around the longest.

hey whats up guys? as soon as the camry forums start expanding once again everyone gets mad at eachother... its all about camry love... jk haha. so sc3 was down for a while, and frankly im glad because i had to search for more forums. so i found this one- and im glad i did too. personally i would like to see everyone supporting eachother. i mean come on, we arent hosting honduh forums here! :smile:

No disrespect to anyone...but I still give credit to CMPL even though the forums have gone down in quality...info wise. I know Camryman has been out there the longest. I've been following it since 95 into 96 when it was only an AOL member site. I'm sure none of you even know that! If it wasn't for Chris Jones, TeamSC³ would be nothing. It's not our fault our forums have blown up (pun intended) in popularity. Ask most people out there, most people prefered our forums than CMPL. We really aren't taking away users from CMPL. Before we went down, we had 450 registered users...of mostly Camry/Solara enthusiasts. You guys on the other hand are a general Toyota forum...which I highly commend. There is really no other place on the internet as an all Toyota board. As you people w/enough sense know, bandwidth isn't free...and we're paying for our forums, website and etc out of our own pockets. For those of you with hookups...kudos to you all.

How can you say we took the forums away from the people? If so...it was beyond our control. It's not our fault people would rather come to a forum that is well moderated and has technical content an amateur will never understand. We did offer an alternative Temporary Forum (despite the popups). It's better than nothing right? If we wanted to be selfish, our forums would only be open to people in our club. We didn't take our services away from the people...it's more like the people used up all of the resources we put out there. It wont be long before the content of info goes back up. Think what you like. It's ok if you want to be narrow minded, that's your problem. You guys didn't even offer a forum until we put our very first one up.
Putting everything aside...the whole point is...should be helping each other out. Not arguing over petty things.

I was going to say something meaniful but opted not too...getting onset of carpel tunnel syndrome...anyway, just thought I'd post up the thread from TeamSC3 talking about Toyota Nation....

Whatever, if there is such a thing as "THE BEST Camry/Solara forum" (in bold and CAPS, as it originally appeared), SC3 can be it. As I will explain, I don't think the moderators and originators of TN really care.
Let's assume for a moment that there is such a thing as "THE BEST Camry/Solara forum".
The number of members should not even be a consideration in rating whether one is better than the other. I fail to see how that is relevant. What's more important is that the people who are acutally participating feel welcomed and feel helped. I even concede that a lot of members are on our board won't be here if the SC3 forum was not down. But so what? Quantity is not quality.
While the SC3 forum may be more technically advanced and the mods discussed may be more hardcore (like Justin's swap, hats off to him), that is way over a lot of people's head - technically and financially. While a lot of people dream of such modifications, how many really understand what is invovled and/or have the dough to pull it off. More technical may not neccessarily be better.
Now, putting the assumption aside, why we are debating who has "THE BEST Camry/Solara board" and why someone may claim such a title? Is there such a thing?? When did it become a contest??? The first reason for TN's existence is for the Toronto guys to have a board to call our own and to get the Toronto area Toyota owners together to form some clout and exchange information. It's achieved its primary purpose and a lot more. Of course, that shouldn't be miscontrued as meaning we don't welcome people from outside Toronto. Nothing can be further from the truth.
Anyway, if there is such a petty and foolish competition for "THE BEST Camry/Solara Board", you can count TN out. I say so on behalf of the moderators and originators of this board.

I've just read over the SC3 thread, and BTW, we are NOT jealous of SC3. For the weather, maybe (not that SC3 makes the Cali weather) but NOT for the number of HITS you guys have. Give me a break!

Ok, why did one ever start claiming "THE BEST forum" anyway?
TN forum has its own purpose of existence and it doesn't "violate" other Toyota boards. We're based in Toronto and SC3 is in Cali, we get snow in the Winter and they don't!!!
About the claim on # of people who join the board, who gives a damn about it? Is there an award that goes to the best camry forum with the most # of people joined??? And I'm sure the total number of people who actually modify their cars in Cali is at least twice the amount of TO.
If we're based in cali, then someone can start the topic of THE BEST toyota/camry forum.

If anyone didn't notice, the state of California has MORE people than all of Canada! That's nuts! For a forum that was started by TTCC which started off with around 7 people in a shopping mall parking lot 1.5 years ago, this forum does pretty well!
Steve's got it right on the money...why should a founding member of another forum come on here and say they're the best? Who wants to tolerate that? How else do you expect people to react? If one of us did the same to TeamSC3's forum, I'm sure it'd get pretty crazy!
What is everyones problem? we are all here to help each other out? this if very offtopic but i just lost another good friend yesterday. it made me realize that we should all help each out. we are love out camry's and solara so rather than bash other forums becuase of numbers or whatever, lets just help each other out.
