Brakes and engine mounts...
Ahh, after months of procrastination new front pads and rotors finally went on my car today. Seeing as the original parts were just that (original 116000 mile jobs), my car was not exactly keen to the concept of stopping before... Now it's just fine. In about a week or so, when I have the rotors seated, I'll really get on 'em when I take on my favorite local road. Should be fun.
Part II of this post revolves around motor mounts. I just got a new frt. mount for my gen2, and I looked at it... I was like, "WTF?!?!?!" It's a piece of rubber barely held in there by four little pieces loosely glued to the metal frame! Now I see the need for the polyurethane Windo Weld modification. I don't think this has been discussed, but would it be possible to substitute Toyota gasket sealer (the thick black stuff in the tube) in place of Windo Weld if given the proper cure time of at least a day? I have the silicone at hand now, and it's free to me; being the cheap guy I am I'd rather try my luck with the silicone than waste $12 on Windo Weld. Of course, if I end up having to use the WW, I will. Thanks for any and all input
Steve
