I am lookin' to buy a set of chrome wheels and tires of this size. Will they fit O.K.? ALso, how will they look if the car is at stock height? If someone has a pic of their car with this size wheel and tire and stock ride height please post it.

thanks

Tire wide is not wide enough and the rim will stick out of the tire.

Use the tire calculator which can be found from TTCC links page.

Cool, found it. It said If the stock tire size is 205/60/15 which is what i have right now and I go to a 215/40/18 all the numbers are very close. If you are saying that the tire will not be wide enough should i go with a 225? I don't want the tire to stick out of the wheel well. Right now the tire sets just inside the well. Should i get a certain offset or stick with stock?

What gen is it? Are you sure 205-60-15 is the stock size? Most Camrys have 205-65-15 if it is not equiped with 14s.

Rim sticking out more than the tire = looks bad and scuffs in no time

Chrome rims = ghetto and played out (IMHO) and heavy as a brick

If your tires stick out of the wheel well, that means the person who sold you the tires gave you the wrong offset.

The stock offset will not be the same on an 18" rims because it will be wider. If you know how offset is calculated, you'll know what I mean.

Jeff, you are right the stock size is 205/65/15 and it is a Gen 3. If I go with 17's or 18's what size tire and offset should I be going with?

Also, if I go with 18's should I be lowering the car to make it look proportionate?

Thanks for the help.

Good 17 tire sizes:
215/50/17
225/45/17

Good 18 tire sizes:
225/40/18

Offset, depending on the width of the rim, probably around 7-8", should be in the neighbourhood of +40. I have 18x8 with +45mm offset.

You should lower the car with 17s or 18s to achieve the proper visual results.
