Question Help Engine light came on!!

Hi all!! I am hoping somewhere here can help me out. I was driving my car home today and the engine lite popped on. I don't know if its related but yesterday it made a noise like I ran over a stick.. couldn't see a stick anywhere.
I know I have to find the code, but is it the same procedure as this? I found this searching the forum.. but don't know if it applies to my car.

"you need to check the codes. behind the battery, you will see a DIAG diagnostic port. it is black plastic, about 1 inch by 1 inch. pop it open.

in side, you will see a bunch of terminals. put a short wire, or paperclip between t and e1.

then get in the supra, and turn ignition to on, but do not start.

the check engine light will flash. count the groups of flashes

3...2.......5...6.......2....1...............3..2. ......5..6.........2...1 repeating...

this tells you the codes 32,56,and 21 are stored in your computer. goto supras.com and check what the codes mean, and what you need to fix.

Thanx Keggy

get a mecahnic to pull the code using a scanning tool. That light blinking method doesn't apply in your case. The code will give you an idea what the problem may be.
